Hello again to all our travel friends
We appreciate your companionship, your interest and your encouragement of our wild and wonderful lifestyle. We are blessed, indeed, to have you in our lives and to be able to do all the crazy things we do.
We are off again ... just 24 hours from now. This time, we are visiting two new places, bringing our country list to about 60 as well as returning to our 'home away from home', Australia, where we enjoy a community of loving and generous friends. We have been away from Australia for several years (the longest time between visits since 1996) and we are looking forward to reconnecting with our friends.
But I must not put the cart before the horse ... First, we travel to the Seychelles, a cluster of islands off the east coast of Africa. Getting there is not easy, to say the least. As usual, Jim is buying his plane ticket and I am flying on airmiles so that does limit our choices of routes. But, on this trip we will sit beside one another on every flight. Frequently, we fly on different flights, different airlines at different times and meet in various places around the world. So this time is a unique experience for us, to be travelling together all the time.
We leave home tomorrow (October 13) and arrive at our first significant destination in the Indian Ocean on Monday (October 15). We will begin by having dinner with our son, Iain, near the Toronto airport. Our flight does not leave until 10 pm. First we fly from Toronto to London. We have a brief stopover and then board a second flight from London to Doha (Qatar) where we change planes yet again and fly Doha to Victoria, Seychelles. But we are not done yet ... one final flight to go, this one only about 30 minutes in length as we fly from Victoria (Mahe Island) to Praslin Island where we will finally settle in for the next 5 days.
Praslin, as with all the Seychelles islands, is known for its exquisite beauty and its gentle and amazing snorkelling. And that is where this adventure will begin ....
Please feel free to come along with us.
